During pregnancy, the relationship you have with your partner goes through a transition. Together, you begin to experience a natural shift between what was and what will be. It’s an exciting, magical and beautiful time that also comes with its share of many sleepless nights, emotional ups and downs and fears and worries. These are the months when it’s important to build a foundation and prepare to embrace the changes as a partnership. Grow Slow and steady if you want a solid foundation

“Don’t try to rush things that need time to grow” The other day I was doing some coaching with a mom client of mine who is starting a new business. She was saying how impatient she was getting about how long it was talking her to build her business. When you are building any kind of a strong and solid foundation no matter what kind (relationship, career… and so on) its always best to build slow and steady. There is a natural divine order and timing to all things. If you try and grow to fast you will miss  out on all the stepping stones that pop up day to day. Rushing like a horse with blinders on with only the finish line in sight…

Your baby’s first bath

One of the questions I ask my parents to be while doing the birth plan is, do you want to bathe your baby sooner or  leave the vernix on and bathe later? Babies are born covered in a slimy, milky protective substance called vernix . This substance is made up of skin oil and dead skin that your baby sheds in the womb.  It acts as a protective waterproof barrier that keeps your baby from becoming dehydrated. Vernix develops around week 27 of pregnancy and is there until birth . Preterm babies tend to have more vernix on them then full term babies. As your due date nears the amount of vernix decreases. Vernix has tons of great healing properties such as: Deep moisturizer Helps to…

New mama Wellbeing Jar

Being a new mom as magical and amazing as it is comes with its fair share of hardships. During pregnancy when coaching my moms to be I do a lot of work on self care and empowering them to be their authentic selves as well as supporting them in their truth, whatever that may be. I try to lock this new way in while pregnant because when they become a new mom often all of it goes out the window and they become the last man on the totem pole. When you are depleted and are running on empty its VERY hard to be present, patient, compassionate, loving and understanding. Taking care of yourself is not selfish but an act of self love. When you…

JUST BREATHE

Deep belly breathing has so many healing and health benefits. It’s something I have all my moms to be do in birth. Your power is in the breath … You can’t stop the waves but the way that you breathe through them can help you have a more relaxed and easier ride. The slower and deeper you breathe the calmer you will become. By doing a few rounds of simple breath- work (taking 4 seconds to inhale through the nose and 4 seconds to exhale through you mouth)you will increase serotonin levels, calm your mind and center your thoughts. Breathing deeply floods your body with oxygen which in turn increases blood flow. It helps clear the lungs of toxins, unplugs and calms the nervous system,…
