Dads-To-Be ❤️

Here are a few ways that you can start bonding with your baby in the womb:

1. Did you know that at 5 months in utero your baby can hear and at 7 months they can recognize voices, sounds, and rhythms? One of the things I always suggest doing is picking a few of your favorite books you liked as a child or that you are drawn to and start reading them out loud daily to your baby. They will know the Kadence and your voice and these will become their favorite books because they are so familiar. You can also sing to them or play a musical instrument.

2. Create an Email account for your child and name it “Letters from your father” Write weekly, monthly, or yearly emails to them and when they are old enough to appreciate it give them the password. Speaking as a woman who just put her father in hospice care I can not imagine a better gift.

3. Rub belly butter on your partner’s bump and talk about your day, tell your baby how excited you are to meet them and about all the fun things you want to teach them and do with them. When you speak from the heart, that energy goes out through your hands and gets transferred into them. This will also help imprint them with your voice and once they are born it will help soothe them.

4. Be actively involved in the birth prep and birth process and help organize and pick things out. (speaking from experience it means a lot to the mamas, they don’t feel like they are alone in the process).

5. Love on your partner. The more you love, connect with, snuggle, have sex, compliment and support the more oxytocin your partner will release. This is the love hormone. It helps Mama feel great. What mama feels, baby feels, as they are two souls under one skin. During pregnancy, it will help your partner sleep better and also help nutrients absorb better. In birth, Your love will help labor flow 🌊
