Doulas and Partners

Doulas aren’t meant to get in the way of the role of the partner, we aren’t there to interfere or intrude on the sacredness that transpires between you both. Our job is to really hold space for the both of you and maybe even help deepen that bond. If anything we know how important it is that you both are connected and present with one another and that your intimacy will help elevate your labor by releasing all the love hormone oxytocin and feel-good endorphins.

Partners and doulas work hand in hand, building a loving and safe space around a laboring woman, ebbing and flowing together as they support her in her ever-changing needs. As a doula I recognize I can’t match the level of deep connection and trust that a partner brings to the birth space, nor do I ever intend to, but my goal is to help enhance the deep love and connection by creating and supporting a beautiful birth experience. So while your partner is gazing into your eyes and whispering words of encouragement in your ear, I’ll be right there behind you, lovingly massaging you, pressing on your back, or doing whatever you both might need.

The love I was so honored to witness between this sweet couple was so beautiful! Such a lucky little babe to be born into so much love!
